Dr. Fandel was born in New York City in the Bronx and grew up in Queens. He attended Bayside High School and Queens College (CUNY). He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He did his internship and residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
He opened his office in Cooper City in 1977 and has been in the same location for thirty years. He has been affiliated with Hollywood Memorial Hosptital, now Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital for the same period of time.
He enjoys running, biking, swimming, skiing, hiking, and whitewater rafting.
